Hearings

This page provides a brief of discretionary determinations and any subsequent penalties imposed by the association for various breaches. It is not intended as a comprehensive report of decisions made in this regard.

Mandatory penalties and fines incurred relative to them, such as are routinely imposed in lieu of points penalties (where no points have been won) for playing ineligible players, are not included here. Nor are the 'Code Violations' [rule 10(b)(ii)] and their ultimate consequences, routinely issued by umpires. Nevertheless, it bears noting that such fines as high as $200 for each infraction have been applied with at least one club suffering a total of $400 in fines for breaching player eligibility rules and having no match points to lose.

In addition to these and other such consequential penalties applied in accordance with our rules and regulations the following have resulted from hearings and/or investigation conducted by various committees and tribunals since the beginning of season 2007/08. It should be noted that the term of suspensions may be subject to certain conditions where they relate to an ensuing season. Commencement dates are generally that of the hearing at which a determination was made and from which time sentences are applicable while 'end-dates' are fully inclusive.
